Graduating the University of Melbourne in 1972, Maree first worked in a mixed animal practice in Launceston before moving to NHVH in December, 1974.  She believes that growing up on a farm is what gave her her love for animals and the desire to work with them by becoming a veternarian.

In 1978 Maree became a partner in NHVH with Dr Geoff Baxter, who has since retired.

At home Maree has Poppy the poodle x from the Dogs Home and three cats - Mogget, Polly & Purrl.
