Graduating from the Utrecht University in the Netherlands in 1999 Gertie came to Australia and started at NHVH in 2002.  Before she joined our team she worked at Campania Vet Clinic as an equine vet, worked at North Nowra Vet Hospital in NSW, as a dairy cattle vet in New Zealand and as an equine vet specialising in reproduction in the United Kingdom.

As a child she grew up in a farming community, always raising orphaned baby animals, so the next logical step was studying to become a vet.  She enjoys being able to educate clients and provide them with knowledge to improve the well being of the animals they shares their lives with.

Away from work Gertie likes to relax on her rural property with her two boys, Stip the dalmation dog and Charisma the shetland pony.
