Janine came to NHVH in February 2002 after a varied working career. Previously she had worked as a veterinary nurse, managed a pizza delivery unit, as a secretary, a medical receptionist, a travel agent, in real estate, in property valuation, at the University (twice) and as the weekend manager of the Hobart Dogs Home. Her love for and respect of animals is what drew her to NHVH and the animals, great clients and family environment, as well as never knowing what each day will bring are what keeps her here.

Janine lives with Toby the Shetland Sheepdog, who is a regular visitor to Puppy School classes and Marshall the Greyhound, who apart from being a movie star is an accredited Delta Dog who visit hospitals, nursing homes and schools, and who also gets roped in when kindergarten classes visit NHVH. Janine used to have a nice garden until Marshall turned it into a racetrack, so these days she tends to spend her spare time with her furry kids and her very understanding boyfriend.

Janine has just started her Certficate IV in Companion Animal Services which she hope will give her an even better understanding of the human/animal bond and will enable her to help humans and animals live together even more harmoniously.
