MISSION STATEMENT:
North Hobart Veterinary Hospital enhances the special bond that exists between pets and their owners by offering the highest standard of animal health care in an understanding and friendly environment.

North Hobart Veterinary Hospital was established in the 1950's by Drs David Brown and Graham Gledhill in the building on Tasma Street. Dr Geoff Baxter joined the team in December, 1969 and Dr Don Pattullo joined in 1973, which is when they built the Rosny Park practice at 58 Bligh Street. Dr Maree Richards came to the hospital in 1974.

After the Tasman Bridge collapse in 1975, the Eastern Shore Practice became markedly busier, and in 1978 they divided the practice in two, with Maree and Geoff staying in North Hobart and the others taking over the Eastern Shore practice.

During the 1970’s horses and cattle made up a large part of the practice but throughout the 1980’s and 1990’s there was a move to seeing mainly companion animals. In the late 80’s the practice commenced limited use of 273 Elizabeth Street until 1991 when a renovation combined the two buildings.

The current owners are Drs Maree Richards, Jennifer Cormack, Manty Arnott and Sarah Goldsmid and they lead a dedicated team of veterinarians, nurses and reception staff who are ready to take special care of your family pets.

The veterinary industry is continually evolving, and staff undertake regular, on-going education to keep up to date with the latest recommendations in every field so you can be sure that the best treatment options will be available for your pet.

We practice in well maintained, contemporary premises using modern equipment including diagnostic imaging, in house pathology and a state of the art operating theatre.

North Hobart Veterinary Hospital is conveniently located on the corner of the Tasmaand Elizabeth Streets in North Hobart and our animal mural, painted by local artist Peter Gouldthorpe, makes us easy to find, as well as celebrating the pleasure that animals bring to our lives.
